Obese and Starving

We look at someone who is overweight and we think, that person eats too much. The truth is that many people who are severely overweight are actually starving.

Our body is very smart. It tells us exactly what it needs. If your body needs food you feel hungry.

But it’s not food that our body is specifically asking for when it tells us we’re hungry…it’s nutrients.

Our body tells us when we need nutrients, which drives us to eat food.

The problem comes when we hear this call for nutrients and we answer with an influx of food that has no nutrients.

If our body asks for nutrients and we feed it fast food, candy, empty carbs, etc. our bodies will continue to tells us that we need nutrients…so we will continue to feel hungry and therefore continue to eat food.

Over-eating is not your fault…it’s your food’s fault. If your food doesn’t contain the high amounts of nutrients your body is looking for, then it doesn’t count as food for your body.

My clients get excellent results when they “diet” for a few key reasons.

1)   My clients eat nutrient dense foods like vegetables, healthy fats, and protein rich foods that provide the proper nutrients to allow for weight loss and increase in metabolism.

2)   My clients eat A LOT of food! This means that it’s easier to avoid treats and unwanted “bad” snacks because they feel full after a meal.

3)   My clients have the tools they need to make healthy foods taste great. Feeling satisfied after a meal is a good way to stick to your “diet”.
